What is PlusBus and can I use it?

Our PlusBus service provides door-to-door transport for people who find it difficult to use public transport. Our vehicles are fully accessible and our drivers are trained to nationally accredited standards. You can register for PlusBus if you are aged 80+ and/or have mobility difficulties. Please find further information below and also on our leaflet here.

Where and when can I travel?

We will pick you up from an address in the Chester, Neston and Ellesmere Port area shown on this map and drop you off at any other destination in this area. Journeys are available between 9am and 11pm from Monday to Saturday, and between 9am and 6pm on Sundays (subject to availability).

How do I register?

Before you can book PlusBus journeys, you’ll first need to register. It’s quick and easy to do - find out more here.  If you'd like to talk to us about eligibility, please call us on 0151 357 4420. We will ask you for details such as your name, age and mobility requirements.

How do I book a journey?

Call 0151 357 4420 or email cheshire@ectcharity.co.uk. Bookings can be made between one day and one week in advance of the day you want to travel. You can make one-off bookings and also arrange regular weekly bookings with us (so that you only need to call us if you wish to cancel).

How much does it cost?

A single journey costs £3, and a return journey costs £5. Charges are per person and apply to all passengers, including companions.

How is PlusBus funded?

The PlusBus service receives financial subsidy from Cheshire West and Chester Council.

“PlusBus is fantastic service, it offers me help with daytime trips to do my shopping and attend medical appointments, and more importantly it provides me reliable transport at night which makes me feel really safe.” - Mrs. Roberts
