Abdullahi Abdi

Abdullahi is a Senior Trainee Actuary at the Government Actuary's Department (GAD), where he has spent four years helping government organisations understand and manage long-term risk. He currently works in climate and disaster risk, supporting departments as they assess their exposure and build resilience. Born and raised in West London, he studied Mathematics and Statistical Sciences at UCL before joining GAD. During a secondment to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), he worked on healthcare policy, building models to inform decisions on legal costs in clinical negligence claims.

Abdullahi brings a rigorous, evidence-led approach to his role as a trustee of ECT Charity. His experience in financial modelling and risk management helps the charity plan sustainably, protect its resources and prepare for future challenges.

Abdullahi's motivation for joining the Board is personal as well as professional. Having grown up in the area with family members who rely on community transport, he has seen first-hand how much these services matter for independence, connection and wellbeing, and he is passionate about ensuring they reach the people who need them most.
