Chief Executive
Following an early career in horticulture, I moved into my first role with ECT running the recycling contracts from the Greenford depot way back in 2001-06. This gave me a great preparation for the operational requirements of a transport organisation. Since then I have held a number of senior roles in charities and the private sector, developing services, increasing impact and establishing some exceptional networks of supporters.
Most recently I led the charity Emmaus Hertfordshire as CEO, offering people affected by homelessness the support to get their lives on track. This gave me invaluable experience working with a board, developing new strategies and diversification of our businesses, but probably the most important lessons were learned from the impact of Covid. The incredible ability of a well-supported team to flex and respond to the unprecedented situations we all faced confirmed how much more can be done when everyone knows what needs doing and are empowered to do so.
As we enter new phases in our own journey, ECT Charity has the opportunity to do much, much more, in particular working with the people who use our services, our clients and an increasing number of stakeholders to make sure we offer what they need, when and where they need it. The future is always going to bring us surprises, but we are ready to respond to new challenges and opportunities.
