Dorset Community Transport is delighted to announce the new Gillingham Community Shuttle Bus. The new route is a door-to-door town shuttle service that connects people in Milton on Stour, Peacemarsh and Wyke with Gillingham town centre – the shops, leisure centre, medical centre and the supermarket.
The service – a trial supported by The Three Rivers Partnership and Dorset Council – runs from 26 February 2026 and operates every Thursday. The route works by collecting people from their doors in a particular areas – either Milton on Stour, Peacemarsh or Wyke – before travelling to key town centre stops, with the return journey taking them home again.
“The new Gillingham Community Shuttle Bus is there to make a trip into town that bit easier” explains Tim Christian, General Manager at Dorset Community Transport. “The service is aimed at anyone in Milton on Stour, Peacemarsh and Wyke who wants to pop into town on a Thursday. We’ve made it door-to-door to make everyone’s journey more practical.
“It’s worth noting that, as a door-to-door service, passengers will need to book their place on the bus first.”
