If you like to get out and about, but want to make your trips a more social occasion, then PlusBus Direct could be just what you’ve been looking for.
PlusBus Direct is a new service in the London Borough of Ealing. The service picks you up from your door and takes you to our most-requested PlusBus destinations on a particular day of the week, before bringing you safely home again afterwards.
The idea is to bring people together for trips, making the journey there and back into a more social occasion.
It’s aimed at older people and disabled people – or anyone who finds public transport difficult to use.
The service travels to our most popular PlusBus destinations - supermarkets, shopping centres, warm spaces, community centres, community events, leisure centres and many more. You can download our current schedule here. We’re always adding new destinations – including trips to special events – so please check back here regularly.
Thanks to funding from the Heathrow Community Trust, we’ve introduced a low return fare of £5. Carers travel for free.
To use the service, you’ll also need to be a PlusBus member, which is free – and easy to join. All you need to do is call us on 020 8813 3210 to get things started. You can find out more about PlusBus here.
To book your place for a particular trip, contact us on 020 8813 3210 or e-mail us at ealing@ectcharity.co.uk. Once registered, you can book up to four weeks in advance and as late as the day of travel (early booking encouraged...)
