PlusBus services to and from Dorchester

If you’d like to visit the Dorchester market, go to the shops or the supermarket – or to simply get out and about, then the Dorchester PlusBus could be just what you’ve been looking for.

Dorchester ‘A’ Service:

• The following service runs to and from Dorchester every Wednesday
• Starting from the East Stoke area at 9:30, the service travels via villages including Wool, Coombe Keynes, East Lulworth, West Lulworth, Lulworth Cove and Winfrith Newburgh
• Return journey departs 12:30
• National Bus Pass holders can travel for zero fare on this service

Dorchester ‘B’ Service:

• The following service runs to and from Dorchester every Wednesday
• Starting from the Abbotsbury area 9:30 via villages including Portesham, Winterbourne Abbas, Winterbourne Steepleton and Martinstown

Dorchester ‘C’ Service:

• The following service runs to and from Dorchester every Wednesday
• Starting from the Beaminster area at 9:30, the service travels via villages including Broadwindsor, Mosterton, South Perrott, Winyards Gap, Hooke, Higher Kingcombe, and Toller Porcorum
• Return journey departs 12:50
• National Bus Pass holders can travel for zero fare on this service

Dorchester ‘D’ Service:

• The following service runs to and from Dorchester every Wednesday
• Starting from the Bovington area at 9:30, the service travels via villages including Wool, East Burton, East Knighton, Owermoigne, Warmwell and West Stafford

Dorchester ‘E’ Service:

• This service runs to and from Dorchester on alternate Wednesdays
• Starting from the Winterborne Whitechurch area at 9:30, the service travels via villages including Winterborne Stickland, Milton Abbas, Hilton, Higher Ansty, Lower Ansty, Melcombe Bingham, Cheselbourne, Dewlish, and Milborne St Andrew
• Return journey departs 12:45
• National Bus Pass holders can travel for zero fare on this service

Dorchester ‘F’ Service:

• This service runs to and from Dorchester every Wednesday
• Starting from the Maiden Newton area at 9:30, the service travels via villages including Frampton, Grimstone, Stratton and Bradford Peverell

Wriggle Valley ‘D’ Service:

• The following service runs to and from Dorchester on the last Wednesday of each month
• Starting from the Bradford Abbas area at 9:30, the service travels via villages including Thornford, Beer Hackett, Yetminster, Ryme Intrinseca, Leigh, Chetnole and Batcombe
• Return journey departs Dorchester at 13:00
• National bus passes are not valid for travel on the service

How much does it cost?

A return fare costs £8 (reviewed annually). The majority of our PlusBus services are cash only and we are unable to accept any card/contactless payments. With the exception of the Wriggle Valley ‘D’ services, our trips to Dorchester accept the National Bus Pass. Simply present your valid bus pass to the driver each time you travel!

How to book

Call us on 01258 287 987 between 9:30 and 14:30 Monday to Friday, (excluding bank holidays) or email us at dorset@ectcharity.co.uk. Once registered, trips can be booked up to 2 trips in advance but no later than 14:30 the previous working day or 14:30 the Friday before a bank holiday Monday. 

Please note: We do not run on bank holidays. No PlusBus services run between 25th December and 1st January.
